![]() ![]() HUD's former regulation (since removed) at 24 CFR Part 109 included the logotype sizes you've asked about. However, when the FDIC last updated its Fair Housing regulation, it indicated in the prefatory text that accompanied the regulation when it was published in the Federal Register, that queries of this type be directed to HUD. Nowhere in the regulation does it prescribe the size of the logotype, although it's reasonable to say that it must be large enough that the text that is part of the logotype be legible. It goes on to say that "this requirement may be satisfied by including in the advertisement a copy of the logotype with the Equal Housing Lender legend contained in the Equal Housing Lender poster prescribed in §338.4(b) of the FDIC's regulations or a copy of the logotype with the Equal Housing Opportunity legend contained in the Equal Housing Opportunity poster prescribed in §110.25(a) of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development's regulations (24 CFR 110.25(a)). The FDIC's Fair Housing regulation at 12 CFR Part 338 requires that any advertisement by the bank for dwelling-secured loans "prominently indicate in such advertisement, in a manner appropriate to the advertising medium and format utilized, that the bank makes such loans without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, handicap, or familial status." section 338.3(a). #2032633 - 08/10/15 04:05 PM Re: Size of Equal Housing Lender Logos MarketingGal ![]() Unfortunately, I don't find any alternative anywhere to use in challenging them on this. Does this really apply to advertising of loan products? If it does, I don't think I've ever seen it done correctly. These guidelines from HUD, however, seem to only be addressing the advertisement of a dwelling for sale, and reference only teh EHO logo. The same guidelines state for a 1/8 page up to 1/2 page ad, that a 1" x 1" logo is used - also very large for that size of ad. The document states that if the size of the ad is 1/2 page or larger, the EHL logo should be 2"x2" which is HUGE! In the past, we've only ben asked to make sure the text is legible and it's similar in size to the FDIC logo used. Our Compliance Department has given us updated guideance for print ads promoting mortgage products that appear to be lifted from HUD's "Part 109 Fair Housing Advertising" document. ![]()
